Water Main Geyser on Shattuck – Berkeley, California – October 28th, 2008

While walking to the Berkeley BART station this evening around 6pm, I saw this column of water shooting at least sixty feet up into the air. There were people gathered around and of course the city fire crews and police and utilities people were there making things better.

The water was running way up from the gutter and for a few moments it was raining for about half a block and every kid in the area was out giggling and screaming. At the very tail end of this video a guy who walked-past said “You should post this on YouTube” and I replied “Of Course!”

we’ll be too busy fumbling with our cell phones trying to send Tweets or upload videos to YouTube to worry about getting pepper-sprayed or shot with rubber bullets by the storm-troopers of the Empire.
